The UNESCO Chair opens the files of “oral heritage” at the King Faisal Research Center

UNESCO Chair at the King Faisal Center Theoretical and practical challenges associated with the questions of preserving oral traditions from a strict academic perspective.
The workshop, which lasted for two consecutive days, was divided into two main sessions, during which the participants exchanged critical observations and constructive ideas to enrich the chapters of the book.
The head of the UNESCO Chair, Dr. Munira Al-Ghadeer, opened the work of one of the sessions, while researcher Nouf Al-Mutlaq moderated the other session with remarkable interaction.
The participants delved into the discussion of the central topics of the book.
The edited book seeks to reposition translation as a pivotal and essential element in the global discourse on folklore and oral traditions.
And to achieve With this strategic goal, the project moves away from the traditional view, towards a deeper theoretical exploration of the unique expressive forms of the oral heritage in the region.
These scientific meetings contribute to refining the critical awareness of researchers, and highlighting the performative precision and cognitive richness that constitute the essence of the oral cultures of the southern world.
