The date of the final match of “Dubai Tennis” between the Russian Medvedev and the Dutchman Khrekspor

Russian Daniil Medvedev (ranked 11th in the world) set up a match with Dutchman Talon Khrekspor (ranked 25th in the world) in the final match of the 34th edition of the Dubai Men’s Tennis Championship (500 points), scheduled for seven o’clock on Saturday evening.
Medvedev’s qualification came after his victory, yesterday, over the first seed in the tournament and the eighth seed in the world, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, with a score of 6-4, 6-2, while Khrekspor reached the final scene by achieving a major surprise by eliminating Russian Andrey Rublev, sixth in the tournament, with a score of 7-5, 7-6.
For his part, Medvedev, who reached the 42nd final in his professional career, said in press statements that “the improvement in his level is linked to the speed of the courts,” indicating that he will try to perform better in the final in order to win the title.
The third-ranked player in the tournament and formerly number one in the world aspires to win the Dubai title for the second time after 2023, in an achievement that will be his first in terms of retaining a championship title, as his previous 22 titles were divided into different tournaments.
In the second match, Khrekspor suffered from pain in the back muscle of the thigh after leading 6-5 in the first set, which required medical intervention, but he returned to break Rublev’s serve and decide it, and the rivalry continued in the second set, which turned into a tiebreak, in which Rublev wasted a 3-0 lead and two chances to decide at 6-4, before the Dutchman turned the tables and ended the match in two sets.
Khrekspor said: “I was barely able to walk at the end of the first set. I was lucky in the tiebreaker, because extending the match to a third set would have made his task difficult.”
With this qualification, Khrekspor reached the sixth final in his career, and the second in the 500 points category tournaments, becoming the first Dutch player to reach the final of the Dubai Tennis Championship.
