Iran announces new attacks on Israel

This morning, Iranian state television announced the start of new attacks on Israel and on American bases, after announcing the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in an attack on his residence in Tehran on Saturday.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard vowed that the armed forces “will take a different and harsh retaliatory step.”

The Revolutionary Guard said in a statement: “We carried out a sixth wave of missile and drone attacks on Israel and American military bases in the region.”

The Revolutionary Guard explained: “The Iranian armed forces will not allow the alarms in the occupied territories and American bases to be silenced, and will take a different and harsh retaliatory step with successive and unfortunate strikes.”

A Sky News Arabia correspondent reported that sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and several Israeli areas, warning of imminent attacks.

The Israeli army announced that sirens sounded in several parts of the country, after monitoring missiles launched from Iran towards Israel, adding that interception operations are underway.
