Iranian aggression against Arab countries threatens to expand the circle of conflict

Jordanian King Abdullah II warned that the Iranian attack on his country and a number of Gulf states threatens to expand the circle of conflict in the region, in light of the attack launched by the United States and Israel on Iran.

A statement issued by the Royal Court said that the King stressed during a phone call with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq that “the Iranian aggression against the lands of the Kingdom, the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of Arab countries threatens to expand the circle of conflict.”

The king also warned in a phone call with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of “the repercussions of these attacks on the security and stability of the region,” stressing that “the current regional developments require effective action by the international community to reduce the escalation,” according to a second statement by the royal court.

Abdullah II reiterated his country’s position rejecting Jordan being a “warfield for any conflict”, after the armed forces announced that their air defenses had intercepted a number of ballistic missiles and drones since the start of the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
