Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi: The Arab Chess Championship for youth and juniors is an important station for discovering talent

Sharjah, July 30 / WAM / Sheikh Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Chess Federation, confirmed that the Arab Chess Championship for youth and juniors, which is organized by the federation in cooperation with the Egyptian Chess Federation in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and continues until next August 5, represents one of the most important stations on the federation’s agenda due to the technical and developmental gains it achieves at the level of the age groups, indicating that attention to youth and juniors represents a basic pillar in the federation’s strategy to build the future of chess. Arabic.

He noted the large Arab presence in the championship competitions, which confirms the status it has reached year after year, and reflects the Arab federations’ keenness to give their players the opportunity to interact and gain experience in one of the most important tournaments designated for Sunni groups.

He explained that the tournament does not only aim to compete for titles, but rather seeks to achieve long-term artistic and educational goals, pointing out that it represents a real school for discovering talents and gives players the opportunity to interact with various chess schools, in addition to helping the technical bodies to evaluate the levels of players and prepare them for the upcoming competitions, which makes it an essential station in the process of preparing future champions.

Sheikh Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi pointed out that the Arab Federation pays special attention to the development of Sunni groups, by organizing tournaments, technical programs and training courses in cooperation with national federations, stressing that the distinguished technical levels witnessed by the tournament reflect the great development achieved by many Arab countries in the field of preparing players.

He expressed the Federation’s confidence that this tournament will witness the emergence of many promising Arab talents who will become the nucleus of the national teams in the coming years, pointing out that the Federation will continue to work with all national federations to provide the best environment for the development of male and female players, which will contribute to strengthening the position of Arab chess on the continental and international arenas and achieving more achievements in the future.

Sheikh Khaled Al Qasimi thanked His Excellency Gohar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt, for his great support for hosting the tournament, and the Ministry’s keenness to provide all the capabilities that contributed to the event being held in an honorable manner, appreciating the efforts of the Egyptian Chess Federation headed by Major General Mokhtar Emara and all members of the working committees and volunteers for the distinguished organization, which reflects the great experience that Egypt possesses in organizing and hosting Arab and international tournaments.

The Arab Chess Championship for youth and juniors witnesses the participation of 18 countries and more than 400 players, both male and female, competing in various age groups in one of the largest Arab tournaments dedicated to discovering and refining talent.
