“Civil Aviation” announces the start of operating exceptional flights at the country’s airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the start of operating exceptional flights at the country’s airports, with the aim of leaving stranded passengers affected by the events that took place in the region, according to the schedules that the airlines will announce to the affected passengers and the destinations concerned.

The authority called on travelers whose flights were affected not to go to airports until they are contacted and informed of flight times and details by airline companies, in order to avoid crowding and ensure the smoothness of procedures.

Civil Aviation appreciated the cooperation of passengers, stressing that adherence to the instructions issued contributes mainly to facilitating procedures and ensuring regular operational movement.

In the same context, Dubai Airports, along with Emirates Airlines and Flydubai, announced the resumption of operating a limited number of flights starting yesterday evening, via Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport.

The Dubai Government Media Office explained that the concerned authorities called on all travelers not to go to the airport at all, unless they are notified and contacted directly by the relevant airline to confirm the departure time of their flight.

The office indicated that “Emirates Airlines” will give priority to those with advance reservations and will communicate with travelers whose flights have been rescheduled, while those dealing with “Flydubai” are advised to update their contact information through the “Manage Reservation” service, and check the flight status via the website “flydubai.com” before heading to the airport.

Emirates Airlines announced the operation of a limited number of flights, starting yesterday evening, in light of the continued impact of airspace closures in the region on air traffic.

The company explained that it will give priority to customers who have prior reservations, noting that it will communicate directly with passengers who have been rebooked on these limited flights, and called on customers not to go to the airport unless they receive notification of this.

Emirates Airlines confirmed that all other flights will remain suspended until further notice, while continuing to closely monitor the situation and update the operational schedule according to developments, provided that developments will be published via the website and official channels on social media.

The company called on customers to check the status of their flights and view the latest operational updates via the carrier’s website, and to review their email before heading to the airport, to view any notifications related to changing or canceling flights.

She indicated the possibility of re-booking to the original destination until March 20, with the need to contact the travel agency if the reservation was made through it, or communicate directly with “Emirates Airlines” if the reservation was made through it. A refund of the ticket value can also be requested through the electronic refund form for direct reservations, or through the travel agency for indirect reservations.

The company also called on customers affected by flight cancellations to contact travel agents to re-book, or to contact them directly in the case of direct booking, while stressing the need to update contact information through the reservations management page to receive the latest developments.

For its part, Flydubai announced that it is operating a limited number of flights, starting yesterday evening, stressing that the safety of passengers and crew members remains its top priority.

The company explained, in a statement, that it continues to work closely with the competent authorities to ensure a gradual and effective return of flights, noting that the situation is still changing and is being monitored continuously, with the flight schedule being adjusted according to developments.

Flydubai called on its customers to update their contact information via the “Manage Booking” page, and to check the flight status via the carrier’s website before heading to the airport.

In a related context, Etihad Airways said that scheduled commercial Etihad Airways flights to and from Abu Dhabi will continue to be suspended, noting that a limited number of aircraft relocation flights, cargo flights, and flights to return citizens and residents to their countries will be operated, in coordination with the competent authorities in the UAE, after obtaining operational and safety approvals.

For its part, Abu Dhabi Airports announced the resumption of operational operations at Zayed International Airport on a limited basis, starting yesterday evening, and called, through its account on the “X” platform, for passengers not to go to the airport before communicating with the airline companies to obtain the latest developments regarding their flight times. The Sharjah International Airport Authority also announced a limited resumption of flights from the airport, starting yesterday, according to a specific operating schedule and in coordination with the airlines and concerned authorities. The airport management called on travelers to communicate with the airlines to confirm the departure times of their flights before heading to the airport.
