“Ras Al Khaimah Economy” intensifies its daily visits to the markets

The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah confirmed the continuation of its intensive monitoring efforts to ensure that the prices of major commodities in the emirate’s markets do not rise, as part of its proactive plan to protect the consumer and enhance market stability.
The department stated in a statement yesterday that field control teams carry out daily inspection tours of various commercial outlets and sales centers, to monitor prices and verify that establishments adhere to approved price lists and that there are no unjustified increases on basic goods, in a way that ensures achieving a balance between the interest of the merchant and the rights of the consumer.
She indicated that daily follow-up includes comparing prices on an ongoing basis, ensuring their clarity to consumers, in addition to taking the necessary legal measures against any establishment proven to have violated the regulations in force in the emirate.
She stressed that consumer protection is at the top of her priorities, stressing that price stability contributes to enhancing confidence in local markets and supports the economic environment in the emirate.
Ras Al Khaimah Economy called on consumers to report any violating practices or unjustified price increases through official communication channels, stressing that reports are dealt with with all seriousness and speed to ensure the protection of consumers’ rights.
These efforts come within the framework of the department’s keenness to enhance transparency in markets and establish the principles of effective oversight, in line with the emirate’s directions in supporting economic stability and achieving sustainable development.
