Jordan reopens the skies to air traffic

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority, Captain Dhaifallah Al-Farajat, announced today, Tuesday, the reopening of Jordanian airspace to all civil aviation traffic (arriving, departing, and transiting) and the cancellation of the partial closure that had been in effect since yesterday evening, Monday, after a careful review and comprehensive evaluation of the operational and security conditions in light of the current regional developments, according to the Jordanian News Agency “Petra.”
Al-Farajat confirmed that the decision to reopen the airspace was taken after an in-depth assessment of the risks in coordination with all concerned parties, stressing that the decision is fully consistent with the highest international standards approved in the field of civil aviation safety and security.
He explained that the authority places the safety of passengers and air crews, and the protection of the Kingdom’s airspace, at its top priorities, noting that the technical staff in the authority will continue to monitor regional developments closely and around the clock, to take any precautionary measures that ensure the continuation of air operations in a safe and regular manner.
In this context, the Authority called on travelers to continuously communicate with air carriers to follow up on operational updates and modifications that may occur to flight schedules as a result of this return.
It affirmed its commitment to providing a safe and stable aviation environment, thus enhancing Jordan’s position as a vital air navigation center in the region.
