The Head of State receives a phone call from the Austrian Chancellor, during which they discussed the repercussions of the military escalation taking place in the region on its security and stability.
Abu Dhabi, 3 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, today received a phone call from His Excellency Christian Stocker, Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, during which they discussed the dangerous military and security situation in the region in light of the military escalation it is witnessing and its repercussions on regional and global security and peace.
During the call, His Excellency the Chancellor expressed Austria’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks on UAE territory and a number of countries in the region, as they constitute a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a threat to regional stability. In this context, he pointed out that Austria had summoned the Iranian ambassador to confirm its strong condemnation of the attacks.
For his part, His Highness the President of the State expressed his thanks to His Excellency Christian Stocker for Austria’s position in support of the UAE.
The two sides called for an immediate halt to the military escalation and a return to dialogue and political solutions, stressing that the continuation and expansion of the conflict represents a threat to stability and peace in the region and the entire world.
