Kuwait summons the Iraqi ambassador and hands him a protest note

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Acting Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Aziz Rahim Al-Daihani, summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Kuwait, Dr. Zaid Abbas Shanshul, to hand him a note of protest following the attacks launched by Iraqi armed factions that targeted Kuwaiti territory yesterday.
During the meeting, Al-Daihani renewed Kuwait’s denunciation in the strongest terms of the dangerous practices that violate its sovereignty and are a clear violation of the rules of international law, and have caused casualties among civilians and military personnel, in addition to massive material losses and damage. He stressed that launching attacks on Kuwait using Iraqi territory or any territory of a neighboring country is considered a crime of aggression criminalized under international law and inconsistent with the principles of territorial integrity, stressing the importance of Iraq taking practical steps. And concrete efforts to address and stop these attacks.
Al-Daihani also stressed Kuwait’s sovereign right, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, to defend its lands and vital installations against any aggression or threat to its security, in a way that ensures the exercise of its inherent right to self-defense in accordance with international law.
