Qatar arrests 194 people for spreading misleading information and inciting public opinion

The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed that the Department of Combating Economic and Electronic Crimes at the General Department of Criminal Investigation was able to arrest 194 people of different nationalities, against the backdrop of their filming and circulating video clips, and spreading misleading information and rumors that contribute to stirring up public opinion.

The Ministry explained in a statement that what was published by the people who were arrested violates the instructions issued by the concerned authorities, noting that the necessary legal and administrative measures have been taken against them.

The Ministry warned against filming or publishing clips or rumors related to developments in the field, stressing that it should obtain information from its official sources only, and not circulate any content that contains misleading information or anything that might stir up public opinion.
