A rare ground landing of Israeli forces in the Lebanese Bekaa in search of the remains of the missing pilot, Arad

Official Lebanese media said on Saturday that the Israeli army carried out an airdrop of forces in the Bekaa in eastern Lebanon during the night, while intense Israeli raids on the area resulted in the killing of more than 10 people.
Lebanese official media and residents said that Israeli helicopters landed forces near the town of Nabi Sheet in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon during the night. It was reported that Hezbollah fighters opened fire on the forces while they were moving on foot.
State media and residents reported that Israeli forces withdrew and left by helicopter while Israeli raids were bombing Nabi Shet and nearby towns.
For its part, the Israeli army announced on Saturday that the military operation carried out by a force in eastern Lebanon was aimed at recovering the remains of pilot Ron Arad, missing since 1986, indicating that “no evidence” was found.
The army said in a statement that during the military operation in Lebanon, “special forces worked… last night in an attempt to find evidence related to missing air navigator Ron Arad.”
The statement added, “No evidence related to him was found at the search site.”
