“Hafeet Sports Challenge” concludes today

The Hafeet Sports Challenge, which was held during the holy month of Ramadan, concludes this evening, and witnessed 43 sports tournaments with wide participation from various categories. The Al Ain Municipality Building will host the closing ceremony.

Within the framework of documenting the current edition, the Supreme Organizing Committee prepared a comprehensive documentation booklet under the supervision of the Media Committee, which reviews the organisational, technical and media aspects of the tournament, in addition to the most prominent milestones and successes achieved by the current edition, supported by photos and documentary materials that reflect the scale of the event and the breadth of the participation base.

The tournament’s official website recorded remarkable digital activity during a record period of time that did not exceed three weeks, as the total technical operations related to the competitions exceeded more than 1.7 million operations on the server (Server Requests), which included registering players, entering results, and updating tables and data for the tournaments.

The number of visits to follow up on the results, schedules, and daily updates exceeded 80,000 visits, which reflects the large amount of public interaction with the championship competitions, and the followers’ interest in its current developments.

The 16th day of the tournament witnessed the holding of a number of strong finals, as Jordanian international player Baraa Widyan was crowned champion of the women’s table tennis championship, after winning the final match over Jaime Yanga with a score of 3-1, while Yara Al-Damasi won third place after beating Ginette Rodriguez with the same score.

In the women’s badminton championship, Noorani Ratu Azhara succeeded in achieving first place after an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, while Sriyuktha Sreejith came in second place, and Ashala Rahul came in third place.
