America warns its citizens in Nigeria of a possible “terrorist threat.”

The US Embassy in Nigeria warned American citizens of a potential “terrorist threat” against US facilities and schools in the West African country, in a security alert issued late Monday.

The embassy remains on high alert since the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran.

The embassy said that American citizens should take additional precautions when traveling to the embassy in the capital, Abuja, the US consulate in Lagos, and US schools.

The embassy did not provide details about the security threat, but in the past few days the Nigerian authorities have strengthened security measures in Abuja following threats to organize pro-Iranian protests.
