Arab condemnation of the treacherous terrorist attack on the UAE Consulate General in Iraqi Kurdistan

The UAE expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous terrorist attack carried out by a drone, which targeted the General Consulate of the UAE in Iraqi Kurdistan, and resulted in collateral damage, without recording any casualties.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that targeting diplomatic missions and headquarters is a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws, especially the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees complete immunity for diplomatic buildings and their employees, which constitutes a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional security and stability.
The Ministry also confirmed that the UAE requests the government of the brotherly Republic of Iraq and the government of Iraqi Kurdistan to investigate the circumstances of this attack, to determine the parties responsible for it, and to take all necessary measures to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
The Ministry stressed the UAE’s categorical rejection of such treacherous attacks aimed at destabilizing security and stability, stressing the need to protect diplomatic headquarters, missions and their workers in accordance with international laws and norms.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement yesterday, reported by the Saudi News Agency (SPA), that the Kingdom confirms that the repeated targeting of diplomatic buildings clearly contravenes relevant international norms and laws, including the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, and stresses the importance of respecting the sanctity of the buildings of diplomatic missions.
The Ministry expressed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates.
The Sultanate of Oman expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the Consulate General of the UAE in Iraqi Kurdistan, and the violation it constitutes of diplomatic laws and customs that guarantee the protection of diplomatic missions and headquarters.
The Sultanate of Oman, in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday, broadcast by the Oman News Agency, affirmed its solidarity with the UAE and the measures it is taking to preserve its diplomatic missions, security and stability, reiterating its position rejecting all forms of violence, regardless of its motives.
The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Iraqi Kurdistan, and considered it an unacceptable act that constitutes a flagrant violation of international norms and conventions that guarantee the protection of diplomatic missions and their headquarters.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement yesterday, reported by Qatar News Agency (QNA), that targeting diplomatic missions and headquarters represents a clear violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and is a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and safety of workers in the diplomatic corps, and undermines the internationally recognized rules of diplomatic work.
The Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm position rejecting all acts of violence and terrorism that target diplomatic missions or undermine security and stability, stressing its solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its support for everything that would enhance security and stability in the Republic of Iraq and the region.
The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous terrorist attack with a drone that targeted the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, as a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, especially the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, stressing the need to protect diplomatic headquarters and missions and their workers in accordance with international laws and norms, and to take all necessary measures to ensure that those responsible are held accountable, and to stop the sinful terrorist and hostile operations that aim to destabilize security and stability, and threaten regional and international peace and security.
The State of Kuwait expressed its condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the attack that targeted the building of the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement yesterday, that this attack is a flagrant violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963, and other international agreements, and expressed the solidarity of the State of Kuwait and its support for the United Arab Emirates.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Iraqi Kurdistan.
He stressed that this attack constitutes a grave violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and safety of diplomats and workers in those missions, stressing the Gulf Cooperation Council’s stance and solidarity with the UAE against this attack, and its rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten security and stability in the region.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan condemned, in the strongest terms, the targeting of the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed, in a statement reported by the Jordanian News Agency, Petra, yesterday, the necessity of respecting international law and the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Vienna Conventions of 1961 for diplomatic relations, in a way that ensures the protection of the headquarters of diplomatic missions and their members.
The Ministry also affirmed Jordan’s solidarity and absolute support with the United Arab Emirates.
Kuwait:
