Emirates / Momentum fills markets and commercial centers

Abu Dhabi, 19 March / WAM / The country’s markets and commercial centers are witnessing rapid activity, which has been clearly reflected in the pace of buying and selling in various retail sectors, driven by a heavy demand from shoppers and visitors, and the growing demand for goods and products related to the holy month of Ramadan and preparations for the happy Eid Al Fitr.
The promotional offers and seasonal discounts launched by the centers and shops contributed to motivating consumers to buy, which created a state of remarkable activity in the markets and enhanced the dynamism of commercial activity in major centers and sales outlets in various emirates of the country.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, the markets have witnessed active and continuous movement, which increased during the days preceding Eid al-Fitr, in light of the increasing demand for shopping and purchasing various supplies.
This movement, in turn, extended to e-commerce, which recorded increasing activity, with increased demand for digital platforms and e-stores, which in turn offered wide discounts on various goods, taking advantage of the development of delivery services and the ease of online shopping, which strengthened the integration of the retail system in the country between traditional and digital channels.
Shopping centers across the country live in an exceptional atmosphere, as they witness a large number of visitors on a daily basis, in a scene that reflects the vitality of the economic sector and its ability to attract consumers during the seasons, especially with the approaching Eid al-Fitr, which is one of the most active periods in terms of sales.
The coincidence of the Ramadan season with the school vacation contributed to giving the markets an additional boost, as this period constituted an appropriate opportunity for families to increase the frequency of visiting various entertainment destinations, shopping, and moving between various commercial centers, whether to buy basic needs or Eid supplies, or to benefit from the promotions and discounts offered by stores on a large scale, which created a state of noticeable momentum in commercial activity.
Over the course of the holy month of Ramadan, purchasing activity for food and consumer goods increased, before gradually extending to other sectors, including fashion, perfumes and gifts, driven by the state of preparation for Eid al-Fitr and the attractive offers that encouraged a wide segment of consumers to increase their spending, compared to normal periods.
Ramadan events and accompanying marketing initiatives also contributed to enhancing this recovery, after commercial centers turned into integrated destinations that combine shopping, entertainment, and family activities, which raised demand rates, contributed to stimulating sales, and consolidated the UAE’s position as a leading regional and global destination in the entertainment and retail sector.
This vital activity reflects the ability of the country’s markets to exploit seasons and occasions to create new economic opportunities and enhance the growth of the retail sector in a sustainable manner, as life continues at its normal pace.
This also contributes to consolidating the country’s position as a leading global destination for entertainment and shopping, and an advanced center for business and services in the region and the world.
