The Head of State and the Egyptian President discuss cooperation relations and regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” discussed with his brother, His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, various paths of cooperation and joint work, especially in the economic and development fields, and the possibilities of developing them in a way that serves the development priorities and common interests of the two countries and brings goodness and development to their peoples.

This came during His Highness’s meeting today with the Egyptian President, who is on a fraternal visit to the UAE

At the beginning of the meeting, they exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, asking God Almighty to bring it back to the two countries and their people with goodness and blessings, and to the Arab and Islamic peoples and the entire world with security and stability.

The meeting also touched on developments in the situation in the Middle East region in light of the escalating military actions and their serious repercussions on regional and international security and stability. In this context, His Excellency renewed his condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks that continue to target the UAE and a number of sister countries in the region due to the violation of their sovereignty and international laws. He stressed Egypt’s solidarity with the UAE regarding all the measures it takes to protect its security and the safety of its territories and citizens.

The two sides stressed the need to immediately stop the escalation and resort to serious dialogue and diplomatic means to settle the various outstanding issues in the region in a way that avoids further security tensions and crises and preserves regional security and stability.

The meeting was attended by: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of senior officials.
