Good rains are sweeping the country… varying in intensity, accompanied by hail and thunder until this evening

Abu Dhabi, 23 March / WAM / Today, Monday, until eight o’clock in the evening, various areas of the country witnessed good rainfall, varying in intensity, from heavy and accompanied by hailstones, all the way to medium and light, and it included a wide number of cities and regions in various parts of the country.

The National Center of Meteorology said, in a statement, that heavy rains accompanied by hailstones were recorded in the Al-Siji and Thuban areas in Fujairah, while Al Faya Road in Abu Dhabi witnessed heavy rains accompanied by small hailstones.

Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder also fell in a number of areas of Abu Dhabi, including Al Hudayriat, Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi Corniche, Al Rahba, Al Wathba, Al Ajban, Zayed International Airport, Al Bateen Airport, in addition to Al Ain International Airport and Sweihan in Al Ain.

The situation extended to the Emirate of Dubai to include Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, in addition to Ras Al Khaimah International and Fujairah International Airports.

In other areas, heavy rains were recorded on Ras Ghamis, Al Ghuwaifat, Al Faza’iyah Island, Al Sela’a, Sabkhat Matti, Al Jazeera Border Guard, Barakah, Al Hamra, Al Ayef, Yu Al Nazra, Yu Al Ghadr, Al Ruwais, Mijbal Al Tawi, Al Wahida, Jabal Al Dhanna, and Jassura in the Al Dhafra region.

The rain also affected Khalifa City and Al Bahia in Abu Dhabi, and the islands of Makasib, Al Yasat, Sir Bani Yas, Qarnain, Abu Al Abyad, and Dalma, in addition to Remah, Al Khazna, Abu Samra, Al Qoua, Zakher, Al Maqam, and Al Muwaiji in Al Ain.

It also included Dubai Marina, Al Warqaa, Mirdif in Dubai, University City in Sharjah, Mushrif, Al Hamidiya, Al Zorah, Al Rawda, Al Jurf in Ajman, Muhadhab and Al Surra in Umm Al Quwain, along with Dibba and Blida in Fujairah.

The areas of East Liwa and Taied in Al Dhafra also witnessed moderate to heavy rains, in addition to Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, the islands of Zirku and Arzanah, the Umm Al Shaif and Umm Al Dalkh fields, and Zakum Island.

Moderate rain also fell on Ras Msheireb in Al Dhafra, Nad Al Sheba in Dubai, Shawka and Wadi Al Aim in Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to Al Rummani and Al Haniya in Fujairah, and Al Manama in Ajman.

The intensity of the rain ranged between light and moderate in Bidaa Al Mutawa, Baynounah, Turaif in Al Dhafra, Mushrif in Abu Dhabi, and Al Aryam Island.

While the areas of Tarfa, South Assab, South Ghayathi, Bu Hasa, Habshan, Bu Hamra, Madinat Zayed, and Hamim in Al Dhafra witnessed light rain, in addition to Hadera in Abu Dhabi, Asharj and Zaaba in Al Ain, Dibba Al Hisn in Sharjah, Dayah in Ras Al Khaimah, Hatta in Dubai, and Sir Bu Nair Island.
