Sharjah Private Education requires prior approval to resume in-person education in schools and nurseries

The Sharjah Private Education Authority required obtaining its prior approval before resuming in-person education in the schools and nurseries that operate under its umbrella. The Authority confirmed, in a circular seen by Emirates Today, that it will not allow the return to school headquarters or the re-operation of nurseries, except after all approved regulatory requirements are met, within the framework of ensuring the safety of students and educational staff.
The authority confirmed that returning to in-person education in schools or resuming work in nurseries is absolutely not permitted before obtaining official and explicit approval, pointing out that any application with incomplete data or not attached to the required documents will not be considered and will be excluded.
The authority explained, in its circular addressed to principals of schools and nurseries in Sharjah, that the procedure comes based on Circular No. (28) of 2026 regarding the continuation of distance education in schools and the suspension of work in nurseries, noting the necessity for schools or nurseries wishing to return to in-person education to fill out the electronic form designated for this purpose within the specified time limit, until March 23, before 3:30 p.m., pending the authority’s response regarding the requests. The Authority stressed the necessity of attaching a safe evacuation plan within the educational facility, in addition to details of the procedures for transporting students to and from their homes, and sending them via the designated official e-mail, stressing that these requirements are a basic condition for studying applications.
The authority confirmed that returning to in-person education in schools or resuming work in nurseries is absolutely not permitted before obtaining official and explicit approval, pointing out that any application with incomplete data or not attached to the required documents will not be considered and will be excluded.
She also clarified that submitting applications must be done by the school principal or his official representative, which reflects the importance of direct administrative responsibility in this procedure. The circular comes within the efforts of the Sharjah Private Education Authority to organize the in-person return process according to precise controls that ensure the provision of a safe educational environment and the preservation of the stability of the educational process, while emphasizing that the safety of students and workers represents a top priority in all decisions related to the return of studies.
