Lebanon withdraws the accreditation of the designated Iranian ambassador and gives him until Sunday to leave

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affairs in Lebanon, Tawfiq Samadi Khoshkho, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Ambassador Abdel Sattar Issa, met him and informed him of the Lebanese state’s decision to withdraw approval of the accreditation of the Iranian ambassador-designate, Mohammad Reza Sheibani, and declare him persona non grata, while demanding that he leave Lebanese territory no later than next Sunday.
In the same context, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned its ambassador to Iran, Ahmed Suwaidan, for consultations, against the backdrop of what the Lebanese state described as Tehran’s violation of the norms of diplomatic interaction and its established principles between the two countries.
