3,500 US Marines, ships, and fighters arrive in the Middle East

US Central Command (Centcom) announced, in a blog post on its official account on the X platform, on Saturday, the arrival of US sailors and Marines aboard the ship USS Tripoli to the US Central Command area of ​​responsibility in the Middle East, on March 27.

Centcom said that the “America”-class amphibious assault ship will serve as the command ship for the “Tripoli” amphibious readiness group (31st Marine Expeditionary Unit), which includes about 3,500 sailors and marines, in addition to transport aircraft and attack fighters, as well as amphibious assault capabilities and tactical assets.
