The General Department of Criminal Investigations and Investigations at Dubai Police, represented by the Lost and Found Department, succeeded in returning 171,490 found items to their owners during the year 2025, in a new confirmation of its leadership in providing proactive police services that enhance security and quality of life in the emirate.
Dubai Police explained that the total number of found items that were dealt with during the past year amounted to 868,110 found items, while the number of reports received about lost items reached 159,962 reports, which were received through police stations spread across the Emirate of Dubai, in addition to approved receiving points such as commercial centers, smart police stations (SPS) and other modern channels that make it easier for the public to hand over found items and report the missing person.
Dubai Police confirmed that these results reflect the integration of efforts between police agencies and society, as members of the public play a pivotal role in handing over the belongings they find, which enhances the speed of their recovery and embodies the values of individuals’ social responsibility and their honesty and positive cooperation.
Dubai Police stated that the Lost and Found Department relies on an advanced smart system that links reports and found lost items, supported by specialized work teams working around the clock, which ensures the accuracy of procedures and the speed of communication with the owners of lost items as soon as they are found, in preparation for their delivery in the easiest and most flexible ways.
She pointed out that the department’s services are not limited to receiving reports only, but extend to providing several solutions, including direct communication with property owners and providing multiple options for receipt, which contributes to enhancing customer satisfaction and establishing confidence in police services.
In this context, Dubai Police called on the public to hand over any found belongings through the approved points, especially police stations, because of their essential role in protecting the property of others and ensuring their speedy return, stressing that community cooperation is a key partner in the success of the lost and found system.

She added that if the customer is unable to come to receive his plate, it will be sent to him via Emirates Post services, as part of Dubai Police’s keenness to provide flexible and integrated services that save time and effort, and reflect the government’s trends towards enhancing the quality of life and simplifying procedures.
