Bahrain assumes the presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of April

As of today, Bahrain has assumed the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of April, succeeding the United States of America, within the framework of a monthly rotation system among the Council’s member states.

Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al-Ruwaie, called on the UN Security Council to issue a clear and frank condemnation of any Iranian attempts aimed at justifying, legitimizing, or evading responsibility for its hostile actions.

The Bahraini ambassador to the United Nations said, “We are seeking an international resolution to protect freedom of navigation and establish the non-exploitation of international corridors as a means of pressure.”
