المملكة: The allocation of food safety laboratories has begun in 5 municipalities: Al-Ahsa and Hafar Al-Batin

Declared , in cooperation with , announced the start of the expressions of interest phase for the project to equip, operate and maintain municipal laboratories for , with the aim of developing laboratory infrastructure and raising the efficiency of food and water testing services in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The project includes establishing an advanced laboratory infrastructure that adopts the highest safety and quality standards for the food and water chain, which contributes to enhancing the safety of the population and improving the quality of life, in addition to supporting government agencies with accurate and reliable inspection services that meet the increasing demand for laboratory analyses.
Food Safety Laboratories
The scope of the project covers the equipping, operation and maintenance of food safety laboratories, with Providing it with the latest devices and equipment, and working to raise its operational efficiency and increase its absorptive capacity in proportion to the size of the current and growing demand, in addition to providing the laboratory examination services required for government agencies according to the highest technical standards.
The project is scheduled to be implemented in a number of secretariats, including the Hafr Al-Batin Municipality, the Northern Borders Municipality, the Tabuk Region Municipality, the Qassim Region Municipality, and Al-Ahsa Municipality, in a way that enhances the geographical coverage of laboratory services and raises their readiness in those regions.
The project comes with a contract model that includes preparation, operation, maintenance and transportation, with a focus on transferring technical expertise to the cadres of the relevant secretariats, ensuring the sustainability of operation and raising the efficiency of performance in the long term. The duration of the contract is five years, which provides a sufficient time frame to achieve the project objectives and develop laboratory capabilities in an integrated manner.
Providing accurate tests
The Ministry confirmed that the project aims to ensure the provision of accurate and sufficient tests for food and water, in line with the standards and objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, strengthen the food safety system in the Kingdom, and raise the level of compliance with health and environmental standards.
It invited interested parties to apply during the period. From April 1, 2026 until April 15, 2026, through the investor portal of the National Privatization Center, and it has also designated the e-mail “ppp@momah.gov.sa” to receive inquiries related to the project.
