Qatar condemns the attack on the UAE embassy in Damascus and demands that those involved be held accountable

The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the riots and attacks that targeted the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the headquarters of its head of mission in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the accompanying violation of the sanctity of diplomatic missions.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency, that targeting diplomatic headquarters is a flagrant violation of international law, stressing the need to hold the perpetrators of these acts accountable and ensure that they are not repeated.

She renewed the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, stressing the importance of taking the necessary measures to ensure the protection of diplomatic missions and the security and safety of their workers, in accordance with the provisions of international law and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
