Al Sharjah turns the tables on Al Wasl and is close to securing survival

Sharjah came very close to deciding its survival in the Professional League, after achieving an important victory over its guest, Al Wasl, with a score of 2-1, in the match that was held in the Smiling Emirate in the 21st round competitions.

Al-Wasl was the better side in the first half, and succeeded in advancing through its star Nicolas Jimenez, who took advantage of a perfect pass from Serginho deep into Sharjah’s defense, and shot the ball with his left hand into the net (17).

In the second half, Sharjah rose up and appeared in a different way, as Othman Kamara scored the equalizer after converting a distinctive cross from Geronimo Boilet into the goal (49).

The hosts continued their pressure, and Khaled Al-Dhanhani was able to score the winning goal, taking advantage of a corner kick that he headed into the net (66).

Sharjah was forced to play the stoppage time, estimated at five minutes, to play with 10 players after its player, Mayed Sorour, was shown the second yellow card for roughness with Ali Saleh.

Sharjah raised its score to 24 points, advancing to eighth place, while Al Wasl remained fifth after its score froze at 33 points.
