Shabab Al-Ahly crosses Al-Jazira with a double in the “yellow cards” summit.

The Shabab Al-Ahly team clinched the summit of the twenty-first round of the Professional Football League, by defeating its guest, Al-Jazira, 2-1, this evening, Saturday, in a confrontation characterized by competition and great physical contact, in a match that combined the restoration of the hosts’ reputation for their previous loss in the semi-finals of the President’s Cup and temporarily regaining the top spot in the standings.
The match, which was held at Rashid Stadium in front of more than two thousand spectators, was fraught with refereeing events, as Venezuelan referee Jesus Valenzuela issued ten yellow cards, five for each team, in addition to a red card for Shabab Al-Ahly player Saeed Ezzat Allah, which reflected the intensity of the conflict between the two parties.
The hosts entered the match with early pressure, which translated into the lead goal in the 19th minute through Cesar Santos, who took advantage of a pass inside the penalty area and shot strongly into the net, giving his team an early advantage.
On the other hand, Al Jazira needed more time to organize their ranks, before they succeeded in equalizing in the 69th minute through Nabil Fekir from a penalty kick, which returned the match to its starting point and raised its tone in the final minutes.
Despite the pressure imposed by Al-Jazira, Shabab Al-Ahly showed the ability to deal with the course of the match, and succeeded in regaining the lead through Renan Victor’s header in the 81st minute, benefiting from a well-placed cross, to secure his team the three points.
