Kalba loses its two-goal lead… and settles for a draw against Al Bataeh

The Kalba team gave up a two-goal lead for the second match in a row, settling for a 2-2 draw against its host Al Bataeh, in the match that brought together the two teams this evening at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in the twenty-first round of the ADNOC Professional Football League, in the presence of about two thousand spectators.
The same scenario was repeated in the Kalba match in the last round against Sharjah, when it lost a two-goal lead and ended in a 2-2 draw, a clear indication of the team’s struggle to maintain its superiority.
Saman Quddus opened the scoring for Kalba in the 16th minute, before Al Bataeh equalized through Alvaro Oliveira in the 34th minute. Quddus returned to give his team the lead again by scoring the second goal for himself and his team in the 55th minute, but the hosts succeeded in coming back again, after Marwan Fahd scored the equalizer in the 61st minute.
With this result, Al-Bataeh raised his score to 18 points, continuing in penultimate place, while Kalba merely added one point, raising his score to 22 points, temporarily advancing to eighth place.
