Shooting in front of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul.. Turkey is investigating the incident

Two policemen were injured on Tuesday following gunfire in front of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, according to the official Turkish Broadcasting Corporation (TRT).

According to the private NTV channel and the Dogan News Agency (DHA), three suspects were “neutralized” in the operation.

A source familiar with the investigation told AFP that there are currently no Israeli diplomats in Türkiye, either at the consulate in Istanbul or the embassy in Ankara.

For his part, the Turkish Minister of Justice said on Tuesday that an investigation had been opened into the shooting incident near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, adding that three public prosecutors had been assigned to investigate.
