المملكة: Poultry markets are safe… 1.5 million tons of local production and comprehensive insurance for the needs of the Hajj season

Confirmed Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Stabilizing supply chains in the poultry sector, announcing the achievement of qualitative leaps in production quantities that are expected to exceed the 1.5 million tons barrier, thus recording a self-sufficiency rate exceeding 76% to support food security and the national economy.

Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour Al-Mushaiti, revealed, during his chairing an expanded meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters, that the outcomes of the meeting reassured categorically the position of poultry meat production. And its products, to ensure price stability and meet the increasing demand, especially during the Hajj season.

Al-Mushaiti reviewed in the meeting, which included The Public Authority for Food Security and the national committees concerned with the Federation of Chambers, the Ministry’s plans and model projects that resulted in the provision of huge quantities of fresh meat and table eggs, in addition to supporting local feed producers to enhance investments.

The official statistics for the first quarter of 2026 showed that the ten largest companies accounted for 85% of local production, as the monthly production of broiler chickens last March reached 125,470 tons, supported by a large strategic stock. 16,278 tons.

He touched on meeting consumers’ desires by producing about 77,000 tons of large chickens weighing more than 1,500 grams, noting that four new companies have entered the actual production phase at the beginning of this month to pump them into retail markets.

The Ministry concluded its standard indicators by estimating the daily production volume of table eggs at more than 24 million eggs, while maintaining safe stocks that exceeded the 26.6 million eggs barrier at the end of last March, including The equivalent of about 74 thousand cartons, to ensure the continued flow of goods in the markets.
