The Bahrain Chamber approves the promotion of Shaker Al-Hilli to membership in its Board of Directors in the 31st session

The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry approved the promotion of the first reserve member, Mr. Shaker Al-Hilli, to membership of the Board in its thirty-first session, after the seat of the original member, Mohammed Abdul-Jabbar Al-Kooheji, was vacant, who submitted his resignation for personal reasons, in accordance with the text of Article (27) of the Chamber’s law, which stipulates that if the seat of a member of the Board of Directors becomes vacant for any reason, he will be replaced by the candidate who received the highest votes after the winning members in the last elections, provided that the new member completes the remaining term. The Chamber’s Board of Directors congratulated the new member, Shaker Al-Hilli, on the occasion of his joining the Council, expressing its confidence in his ability to contribute to supporting the process of institutional work and enhancing the Chamber’s role as a major representative of the private sector, in light of his distinguished professional and economic experience and a proven record in serving the private sector, in addition to his contributions to enhancing the business environment and supporting economic initiatives. The Board indicated that Al-Hilli’s joining comes within the framework of commitment to the legal and regulatory procedures that regulate the Chamber’s work and enhance the principles of transparency and governance in managing its affairs.
The Council stressed that the next stage requires strengthening the partnership between the various parties of the economic system, in a way that contributes to supporting the national economy and enhancing its ability to adapt and withstand in the face of regional and international changes, especially in light of the current developments and the challenges that the region is witnessing. It stressed the alignment of the private sector behind the banner of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, in a way that enhances the Kingdom’s stability and preserves its development gains. The Council also noted the efforts of the Kingdom’s government. The Chamber’s Board of Directors also approved accepting the resignation of Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Jabbar Al-Kooheji from membership of the Council in accordance with the approved procedures and regulations. The Council expressed its great appreciation for the sincere efforts and qualitative contributions he made during his term of membership, which had a tangible impact in strengthening the role of the Chamber and consolidating its position as an effective representative of the interests of the business community and a supporter of the economic development process in the Kingdom. The Council wished him continued success in his career during the coming period.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors affirmed its keenness to continue working in accordance with an organized institutional framework based on adherence to rules and regulations, ensuring efficient and sustainable performance, enhancing its ability to keep pace with the aspirations of the business community, and contributing to supporting the process of economic development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the national trends and economic vision of the Kingdom, pointing out that the Chamber is continuing to develop its roles and services in a manner commensurate with the aspirations of the business community, and enhancing its ability to represent the interests of the private sector more effectively, in addition to contributing to stimulating investment and creating a more competitive business environment.
