UAE Parliament for Children and"Little volunteer" They participate in the celebration of"World Autism Day"

ABU DHABI, 9th April, 2018 (WAM) – A number of members of the UAE Children’s Parliament and the Young Volunteer Initiative, with the support of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, participated in the activities celebrating World Autism Day, organized by the American Psychiatric and Neurological Center in the “Canal” area in Abu Dhabi and the House of Mohammed bin Khalifa in Al Ain, in partnership with the Council, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, the Department of Health, the Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Society for Future Generations, the New England Center, and the National Academy of Child Development. And the Emirates Autism Society.
During the activities, members of the UAE Parliament for Children and the “Young Volunteer” distributed about 600 books published by the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, including stories and various other books, to children with autism, with the aim of supporting their abilities and potential in the field of the Arabic language, and developing and strengthening their love of reading and their thinking and communication skills, in addition to distributing gifts to them to make them happy and bring joy and joy to their souls.
The activities included the establishment of a special corner for the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Emirates Children’s Parliament, through which members of the “Parliament” and the “Young Volunteer” introduced children, their families, and visitors to the services that the Council provides to mothers, children, and adolescents, the initiatives it organizes in this field, and the role of Parliament and the activities it implements to enhance the effective participation of all children, including people of determination, their families, and institutions related to issues and topics related to them and community development, as A platform that enables children to freely express what is on their mind, what they aspire to in ways that will facilitate their lives, and what they dream of of a prosperous future that awaits them, and to be informed of all their rights and exercise them at all levels.
The event included a talent show corner that allowed children with autism spectrum disorder to display their talents to visitors, in addition to an event entitled “A healthy child, a bright future,” during which early signs of autistic disorder were examined for interested children and their families, and a program of periodic visits for healthy children was presented.
The activities included an introduction to the UAE’s environment, the treasures and wealth it contains, and the importance of preserving and preserving it for current and future generations, the “Magic Jar” activity, “sand shaping,” and the pearl diver’s journey…from the pearl dish to the coffee dallah, in addition to entertainment activities that included the “Little Safari” and the gloves activity.
The program to celebrate “World Autism Day” included a sensory station, “tactile, visual, and auditory,” and activities to develop children’s fine skills, hand skills, executive skills, and life skills, and others for creative and social play with the aim of enhancing the creativity and communication abilities of autistic children, as well as other sections with the aim of raising awareness and education about autism spectrum disorder and the advanced methods available in the UAE to treat it and reduce its effects on the life and future of the affected child.
The celebration included a course of motor challenges, animal walking cards, balance challenge points, the floor bar game, throwing grain bags towards the target, awareness of augmentative and alternative communication, parachute games, language and narration skills, language-based treasure hunts, emotion cards, and developing reading and story-telling skills, all of which aimed to develop the talents of autistic children and enhance their abilities in various fields, and contribute to supporting their treatment, training and rehabilitation, and then integrating them into society to contribute with Their peers in the construction and development process taking place in the UAE
It is worth noting that the world celebrates “Autism Awareness Day” on April 2 of each year, with the aim of highlighting the need to help improve the quality of life of those suffering from autism so that they can live a full and meaningful life as an integral part of society.
