Latifa bint Mohammed meets with cultural leaders to enhance the readiness and flexibility of the creative sector

DUBAI, 9 APRIL / WAM / Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with elite representatives of the cultural and creative sector in the emirate, during the “Creative Sector Resilience” workshop, which was organized by the authority in cooperation with the Dubai Future Foundation at the Etihad Museum, with the participation of leaders of cultural, heritage and artistic institutions and centres.
This meeting comes within the framework of Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance the readiness of the creative sector and consolidate its position as one of the main engines of the future economy, in line with the emirate’s vision and its global status as a center for creativity and culture.
Her Highness stressed that the creative sector in Dubai is characterized by its high flexibility and continuous ability to adapt to changes, within an integrated system based on partnership and integration of roles, noting that these components represent a solid foundation for ensuring the sector’s sustainability and growth.
Her Highness said: In moments like these, the value of solidarity and a sense of shared responsibility is evident. The real strength of this sector lies in its cadres and competencies, and in their ability to continue building and developing despite the challenges and based on a forward-looking leadership vision that puts people at the top of priorities. We continue to work with confidence to preserve what has been achieved and harness all capabilities to invest in the future of the sector. Through joint work and conscious dealing with variables, we will enhance the growth of our creative system and ensure its sustainability, vitality and leadership for the future.
During the workshop, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum led an interactive and constructive dialogue, which discussed the most prominent current challenges, common priorities, and mechanisms for dealing with rapid transformations, in addition to anticipating future opportunities that could enhance the growth of the sector, within a proactive approach adopted by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, which aims to enhance the readiness of the cultural and creative sector, and ensure its continuity in a rapidly changing global environment, in a way that supports Dubai’s competitiveness in the creative economy.
For her part, Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, confirmed that the creative system in the emirate enjoys high efficiency and flexibility, enabling it to adapt to various circumstances and changes.
She said: The “Creative Sector Resilience” workshop reflects the forward-looking approach adopted by the Authority, and its efforts to develop innovative business models and formulate practical solutions that enhance the sector’s readiness. Facing challenges requires clarity of vision and early preparation, which we are keen on through a deep understanding of the sector’s needs and transforming the outcomes of this workshop into executive steps that contribute to its continuity and growth in the long term.
She added: The workshop provided an interactive platform that brought together innovators and stakeholders to exchange visions and experiences, which contributes to building a more flexible system capable of anticipating challenges and turning them into opportunities that support growth.
For his part, His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, stressed that Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s support for the creative sector in Dubai constitutes an inspiring incentive for creatives and innovators and encourages them to continue creativity and contribute effectively to the development of the cultural scene in the emirate.
He added: Organizing this workshop comes within the framework of the Dubai Future Foundation’s keenness to cooperate with all those concerned with the creative sector in Dubai to enhance the readiness of this important sector for future changes and transformations and its readiness for the upcoming opportunities in light of the increasing role of technology and its connection with many other economic sectors.
The workshop witnessed wide participation from government and private agencies and actors in the cultural scene, as discussions focused on building a common understanding of the reality of the sector, determining priorities for the next stage, and developing practical scenarios that support making strategic decisions that enhance its flexibility and sustainability.
The workshop outcomes will contribute to developing an action plan that supports strategic planning for cultural and creative industries in Dubai, thus enhancing the emirate’s position as a global center for creativity and culture.
