The Crown Princess of Norway appears at an official event carrying an oxygen tube

Crown Princess of Norway, Princess Mette-Marit, appeared at an official event carrying an oxygen tube for the first time. Pictures from the Norwegian News Agency (NTP) on Friday showed Mette-Marit carrying a tube, known as a “nasal cannula,” which is a device used to deliver supplemental oxygen to the patient. The reason for her appearance was a reception for Norwegian participants in the Paralympics.
Norway’s Crown Prince, Prince Hakan, and the couple’s two children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, also attended the event at the Royal Palace in Oslo.
Mette-Marit was suffering from pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable disease. This disease causes scarring of the lung tissue, which can lead to shortness of breath, among other symptoms.
