The Sharjah Chamber discusses with the shopping centers working group plans to develop the sector

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry held an expanded meeting with the shopping center sector working group operating under its umbrella. The meeting, which was held the day before yesterday at the Chamber’s headquarters, discussed plans to develop the sector, enhance its investment attractiveness, and ways to improve the system of services provided in shopping centers in line with the strategic directions of the Emirate of Sharjah in the areas of sustainable economic development and revitalizing domestic tourism, in addition to a number of topics aimed at raising the sector’s competitiveness to consolidate Sharjah’s position as a shopping and entertainment destination at the regional level.

The attendees praised the high efficiency and proactive methodology demonstrated by government agencies in Sharjah in dealing with the recent weather and climatic conditions, stressing that the speed of response strengthened the confidence of investors and the public in the strength of the emirate’s economy and its superior ability to transform challenges into real growth opportunities, which reflects the strategic vision of the wise leadership in building an economic system that enjoys sustainability in various circumstances.

The Sharjah Chamber affirmed its keenness to strengthen cooperation frameworks with the shopping center sector working group, as it is the body that directly represents the sector and reflects its true reality, which contributes to developing initiatives and solutions to support this sector and develop its role in stimulating commercial activity, noting that the success of the shopping center sector in providing operational needs and requirements contributes directly to stimulating domestic tourism and makes shopping centers integrated destinations to attract visitors from inside and outside the country.

She noted her commitment to supporting private sector projects, continuing to innovate flexible solutions that ensure business flow, and cooperating with sectoral work groups to develop successful policies that enhance Sharjah’s investment attractiveness.

For their part, the members of the shopping center sector working group and the heads of the centers stressed the importance of working as a team and coordinating to benefit from the strategic support provided by the Sharjah Chamber to ensure the sustainability of the sector and to continue building an integrated economic system that brings together the shopping centers, hotels and legal sectors, enhancing operational processes and providing an exceptional shopping experience that supports the position that the Emirate of Sharjah has achieved as a prominent destination for investment and quality of life.

The participants also discussed mechanisms for supporting small and medium enterprises within shopping centers and the importance of finding innovative solutions and flexible rental frameworks that ensure the sustainability of these projects and enhance their contribution to the retail sector. They discussed a number of proposals to develop effective solutions to confront climate conditions and ensure the readiness of the infrastructure surrounding the shopping centers and increase their operational efficiency.
