33,250 Toyota-Lexus vehicles were recalled due to a defect in the parking assistance unit

The Ministry of Commerce recalled 33,250 vehicles (Toyota – Lexus), of several makes and models, due to a defect in the programming of the electronic control unit for parking assistance.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the defect results in the image not appearing on the screen in reverse mode, which increases the risk of an accident.

The Ministry called on users of the vehicles included in the recall to contact the local agent on the toll-free number (8004400055) and for cars. Lexus called the toll-free number (8001220022), to carry out the necessary repairs free of charge.

It asked vehicle owners to verify that the vehicle’s chassis number is included in the recall campaign through the Defective Products Recall Center website.
