Dubai, April 13, 2017 (WAM) – Today, the Dubai Press Club launched the first session in a series of dialogue sessions in which it hosts an elite group of political action figures, media leaders, and newspaper editors, in addition to the most prominent writers, thinkers, academics, and content makers in the UAE and the Arab world, to discuss issues related to the political, security, and economic scene, and anticipate future prospects, including the impact of these issues on development paths in the Gulf countries, and ways to deal with challenges and enhance opportunities for growth and stability. At the regional and international levels.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, expressed her welcome to all the speakers, and her gratitude for their participation in this initiative, because of its impact in enriching society’s awareness and enhancing its role in interacting with various issues with a future dimension, reflecting the cohesion of Emirati society with all its segments and components, and the alignment of the Emirati people behind its wise leadership.

Her Excellency said: “The Dubai Press Club continues to perform its role as an intellectual platform that brings together minds and experiences to read the public scene in depth and analysis, and to anticipate what the next phase may bring in terms of transformations and developments that will reflect on the future of the region and the world. The club’s organization of these dialogues comes out of its keenness to keep abreast of the most important issues and developments, and to contribute to providing a clear picture of their potential impacts in the short and long term, through a conscious dialogue based on knowledge and sober analysis, arriving at insights based on facts, away from any distortion. In the coming weeks, prominent figures will participate in the discussion, including His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council. The first session, which was held today in the presence of a group of media leaders, writers and content makers at the Dubai Press Club headquarters, hosted the Emirati writer and political analyst Mohammed Al Hammadi, who stressed that the UAE, with its wise leadership, always presents a wise model based on consolidating stability.

He said that the UAE, with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, continues to establish a unique model that reflects the country’s firm commitment to the principles of peace, stability and sustainable development.

During the session, which was titled “Reputation Management and the National Narrative,” and was moderated by media outlet Nofar Ramool, Al Hammadi stressed the importance of developing an integrated, multilingual national media narrative that is capable of efficiently confronting media disinformation campaigns and conveying the UAE’s message to the world, while reflecting the truth of its positions and policies away from distortion or falsification.

For her part, Maryam Al-Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, explained that the club has a network of strong relationships that connect it with elites, figures of political and media work, and leading thinkers throughout the Arab world. These relationships represent an opportunity to provide an important overview of valuable intellectual products that contribute to creating community awareness and help its members form clear convictions based on facts and compelling evidence, and help them determine the best ways to deal effectively with the surrounding challenges in order to Transforming them into opportunities that enhance the resilience of our societies and their ability to adapt and continue the path of growth and prosperity.
