The Ministry of Foreign Affairs opens the door for applications for its scholarship program with opportunities in more than 115 international universities and 9 specific specializations

ABU DHABI, 15 APRIL/WAM/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the opening of registration for the new cycle of its scholarship programme, starting from 1 to 30 May 2026.

The program provides distinguished educational opportunities for outstanding Emirati students to study in more than 115 prestigious international universities, ranked among the best academic institutions in the world, within 9 specializations that include artificial intelligence, data science, international relations, political science, and international law, in addition to international trade, economics, cybersecurity, and security studies.

These educational paths were carefully selected to meet the accelerating requirements of UAE diplomacy, and to provide the diplomatic corps with a qualified generation capable of creating the future and keeping pace with international changes.

In essence, the program is based on preparing diplomatic leaders capable of influence and innovation, through an integrated path that combines academic qualification and vocational training. It begins with studying a bachelor’s degree at one of the most prestigious international universities, then moving to the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy to obtain a specialized postgraduate diploma, and is completed by engaging in work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and being appointed to the diplomatic corps after fulfilling the graduation requirements.

Through this path, the Ministry seeks to enable scholarship students to contribute effectively to the development of the UAE’s foreign policy, and to enhance its presence and geopolitical influence on the international arena, thus consolidating its position and enhancing its role in regional and international issues.

The conditions for acceptance and enrollment in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ scholarship program include that the applicant must be a citizen of the country and between the ages of 17 and 22 years old, and must be of good conduct according to a certificate from the relevant authorities approved in the country, and must have a high school diploma with a grade of not less than 80%, and a certificate of proficiency in the English language (6.5 Academic IELTS) or its equivalent from TOEFL, in addition to obtaining academic acceptance to study from the university according to the list of universities and majors approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a commitment to work. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the diplomatic corps for a period equivalent to years of study, in addition to fulfilling the requirements of national service for male students and passing the prescribed tests and interviews.

Application requires attaching a set of basic documents, including a valid copy of the passport, family book, identity card, birth certificate, and personal photo, along with transcripts for grades (10, 11, and 12), a university acceptance letter, in addition to a medical examination certificate, a certificate of good conduct, a CV, guardian approval for those under 22 years of age, and a certificate of termination or permanent exemption from national service for males.
