With a global presence, the Non-Profit Cultural Sector Forum discusses creating the future of culture

The first day witnesses the holding of eight dialogue sessions in which a group of local and international experts and specialists participated, to discuss several strategic axes about the non-profit cultural sector; It examines its current reality, its role in creating the future in light of modern trends, the shared human future, the role of culture as a soft power, and the importance of empowering non-profit cultural organizations to build a sustainable cultural and economic impact, with a review of models of cultural cooperatives, and the role of social responsibility in developing the non-profit sector.

Interactive Initiatives

The forum organizes a number of interactive pillars and initiatives over two consecutive days; Among them are dialogue sessions that bring together sector leaders and decision makers, the Knowledge Lab, which offers applied workshops specialized in governance, sustainability, impact measurement, and resource development, in addition to counseling sessions that provide individual guidance meetings with experts, 360 meetings aimed at enhancing communication and building partnerships, and the Inspiration Platform, which showcases inspiring experiences of non-profit cultural organizations, in addition to the Empowerment Portal, which introduces support programs and mechanisms for benefiting from them.

As witnessed by The forum includes the signing of a set of agreements and memorandums of understanding between several government agencies and bodies, potential entities, and non-profit cultural organizations, within the framework of strengthening partnerships, supporting sustainability paths, and enabling non-profit cultural organizations to expand the scope of their work and achieve a sustainable cultural and societal impact.

Making the Cultural Future

The forum comes to shed light on the non-profit cultural sector, its role in creating the cultural future, and the rich opportunities offered by the sector, which is experiencing a great renaissance. Since the Ministry of Culture launched the strategy for the non-profit cultural sector, which included a group of qualitative initiatives, the most prominent of which is the initiative to establish professional associations that was launched in 2021, and witnessed the establishment of 16 professional associations, the harmonization of several entities moving from the Ministry of Information to the Ministry of Culture, the initiative to classify and qualify organizations for support, the development of non-profit cultural organizations, and the launch of the support-for-performance program; To encourage non-profit organizations to apply for financial support conditional on performance; To ensure the achievement of impact in the cultural sector and fill the gaps in the cultural value chain.

The Ministry of Culture aims to achieve integration between the various parties of the cultural system, localize knowledge and invest in the best local and international practices, raise the level of awareness and knowledge of the programs and services of the non-profit cultural sector, encourage individuals and donors and highlight inspiring opportunities and experiences, in addition to contributing to enhancing the institutional and financial readiness of non-profit cultural organizations, in continuation of the cultural system’s efforts to achieve the goals of the strategy. National Culture, under the umbrella of Saudi Vision 2030, which contributes to supporting the growth of the sector and expanding its cultural and societal impact.
