We felt let down during this crisis by some Arab and friendly parties

The diplomatic advisor to His Highness the President, Anwar Gargash, said during a media session organized by the Dubai Press Club: “Iran is trying today to rebuild bridges of relations with the countries of the region, but let us all remember that it was Iran that targeted those bridges through its brutal aggression against the Emirates and the Gulf states over a period of 40 days. The Emirates does not close the doors of diplomatic communication, but we judge by actions, not words.”
He added: “The UAE was more vulnerable to brutal Iranian attacks compared to other parties and countries, including Israel, and this comprehensive attack and major targeting of the UAE cannot be understood through any logical and rational explanation.”
He continued: “Today we are facing a war of narratives, a war aimed at mobilizing the public. Yes, Iran lost and yes, the UAE won. We were exposed to more than 2,800 Iranian missiles and drones, and we shot down 96% of them. Iran believed that the UAE was an open arena, but we responded to the attack with all efficiency and superiority, and we are proud of our country, our leadership, our society, and proud of our national economy.”
He stressed: “After 40 days of Iranian aggression, we emerged stronger, more solid, and more confident that we are capable of defending ourselves. Life and movement continued normally, supply chains were strong, financial solvency was stable, and services continued at all levels. The Emirati model has triumphed.”
He stated: “The largest amount of assistance and serious offers to support the UAE defense effort came from Western countries. There are countries from which we did not expect these positions. They contacted us to provide actual support, even if we did not need it. On the other hand, there are countries from which we expected better positions that did not provide anything at the beginning of the crisis, but they offered assistance very late.”
He said: “Years ago, we were aware that any security threat to which the UAE might be exposed might come through missiles, drones, electronic attacks, or terrorism. Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, who is a military man, we built the UAE system to confront these various threats through multi-layered air defense capabilities, a security system, and advanced electronic capabilities.”
He added: “We are proud of our armed forces and their capabilities, and we are ready for any escalation, God forbid, if it occurs.”
He stated: “We felt let down during this crisis by some Arab and friendly parties, but we abstain from delving into those details.”
He stressed: “We stood with the Palestinian cause and with Gaza through actions, by providing humanitarian aid on the ground at a time when the Arab public was applauding statements from countries that did not provide anything, and was attacking the Emirati position. The right of the Palestinian people to an independent state is an established right that we believe in and support in the United Arab Emirates.”
He stated: “We have a firm conviction that we are a country that wants to be a pivotal part of the future, and not part of the narratives of the past and ideological trends.”
He stressed: “We are an Arab Muslim country that seeks to be among the developed countries. That is why we have space programmes, we invest in science and artificial intelligence, our economy is successful and diversified, and we are keen to be a tolerant and moderate country. We are a bright image of the Arab and Islamic world, and we seek to provide the best model of moderation, progress and prosperity from the heart of this region.”
He pointed out: “The position of the Muslim Brotherhood, for example, regarding the war and attacks on the Gulf states was silent, as they see Iran as an ally.”
He said: “Some countries do not give value to the human being, his life, education, and health, but our view is completely different. We have defended our citizens and every resident on our land, and we provide them all with a quality of life in accordance with the highest international standards.”
He added: “In the UAE, we do not want to return to war, but we also do not want a cheap peace. We have major issues such as the return of natural freedom of movement to the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring that Iran does not possess a nuclear weapon. Iran today is a bullying and dangerous state, and we want to place restrictions on its use of missiles and drones because they represent future threats to countries in the region and the world.”
He continued: “We see that the main strategic danger to the UAE and the Gulf comes from Tehran, and this is not a call to attack and assault Iran, but rather an explanation of the main source of danger while keeping the doors of diplomacy open.”
He stressed: “After this war, we are facing a more complex scene, but the UAE is able to navigate this reality, despite Iran’s aggression and regional challenges, and we will emerge stronger.”
He stressed: “The UAE has overcome this crisis with great excellence. We have been able to defend ourselves and our achievements honorably in the face of a comprehensive Iranian attack. We do not want an atmosphere of war, but the UAE is capable of defending itself, its people, and its achievements with all merit.”
He stressed: “We are a rational and strong country, and European solidarity with the UAE and the Gulf states was clear and great, while Iran lost any form of Western or international solidarity because of its aggression against the Gulf states.”
He stated: “We have legitimate questions about the role of the Arab League and its position, and the position of the Gulf Cooperation Council was weak in political and security terms in light of what we witnessed over the past days of blatant Iranian aggression, despite the presence of important economic and societal advantages for this council.”
He pointed out: “The American role after this war will be greater, as most of our armament and that of the Gulf states is American, and we rely on this system, which has proven its ability to confront Iranian aggression. This Emirati and Gulf partnership with Washington came after many years of relations, mutual trust, and joint investments.”
