Abdullah bin Zayed receives the British Foreign Minister and they discuss developments in the situation in the region

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall developments in the situation in the region, the brutal Iranian missile and terrorist attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of brotherly and friendly countries, and their dangerous repercussions on regional and international security and stability, the security of international navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.
During the meeting, Yvette Cooper reiterated her country’s solidarity with the UAE in taking the necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to maintain the security of its citizens, residents and visitors.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan appreciated Yvette Cooper’s visit, which comes within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two countries, and also embodies the United Kingdom’s full solidarity with the UAE in the wake of this Iranian terrorist aggression, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.
His Highness and Yvette Cooper reviewed the latest regional developments related to the recent announcement by His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. They also discussed the importance of intensifying international efforts to consolidate the foundations of security and stability, and enhance the chances of sustainable peace in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of common interest related to UAE-British relations, and ways to develop them in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two countries and enhances the well-being and prosperity of their peoples.
The meeting was attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State.
