The Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah opens the Al-Shahouh Society Museum for Culture and Heritage on the occasion of World Heritage Day


Ras Al Khaimah, April 18, 2018 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, visited the Al Shehouh Society for Culture and Heritage in Ras Al Khaimah, on the occasion of the world’s celebration of World Heritage Day, which falls on April 18 of each year.
His Highness witnessed the celebration held by the association on this national and international occasion, out of belief in the importance of preserving the cultural heritage and strengthening the authentic national identity, and out of His Highness’s keenness to support cultural and heritage institutions in the emirate.
His Highness inaugurated the Al-Shahouh Society Museum for Culture and Heritage, which is a cultural edifice that embraces the masterpieces of the popular heritage of the people of the region, and documents the history of the Al-Shahouh tribe, its arts, customs and authentic traditions that have been passed down through generations over hundreds of years.
During the celebration, the folk groups performed the most beautiful songs and authentic traditional folk arts, which added joy and a high national spirit to the occasion, in which the values of belonging and pride in the Emirati identity were evident.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Al Shehouh Society for Culture and Heritage in preserving, documenting and transmitting the cultural heritage to future generations, stressing that the wise leadership gives great attention to national heritage as it is a fundamental pillar of national identity.
