Forgery of nationality has affected Kuwaiti political discourse and we are now living in a phase based on blackmail

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Kuwait, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, affirmed that “the new nationality law is an indispensable necessity for preserving and protecting national identity, and we will implement it firmly and transparently in order to preserve the demographic composition and guarantee rights in accordance with legal frameworks.”

Al-Yousef said in a press statement, “The manipulation and forgery in the citizenship file even affected political life and political discourse in Kuwait. We have reached a stage in which we have lost the language of dialogue and mutual respect in political discourse. We have now lived in a political stage based on political blackmail and the exchange of personal and factional interests far from the interest of the nation and citizens.”

He added: I say clearly that the use of modern technology has revealed many cases of fraud and forgery, including:

1 – The names listed in the citizenship file do not exist on the ground, but rather they were just slots waiting to be filled, which reflects the extent to which cases of forgery have reached.

2 – Monitoring cases of people from the same family… two brothers of different nationalities, one of whom was of Kuwaiti nationality and the other of Arab nationality, and they lived in the same house inside the country.

3 – Children of Kuwaiti women. It is inconceivable that there is a person after 22 years who becomes a Kuwaiti citizen and enjoys all the privileges just because he sought to naturalize him through intermediary.

4 – Do the Kuwaiti people accept that there is a member of the National Assembly who forges citizenship, criticizes the government and the people, and works to direct public opinion in a negative way, as well as a member of the National Assembly who covers up cases of forgery of citizenship within his family without taking into account his oath?

5 – A false judge of nationality issues rulings in the name of His Excellency, His Highness the Emir of the country, may God protect and preserve him.

6 – A deceased person whose death has not been documented and new births are added to his nationality file.
