Gold and silver prices decline as the dollar rises

New York, April 21 / WAM / Gold and silver prices witnessed a decline today, Tuesday, affected by the rise in the dollar.

Gold fell in spot transactions by 0.2% to $4,807.91 per ounce by 02:17 GMT, continuing its decline from the previous session, during which it recorded the lowest level since April 13, while US futures contracts for June delivery settled at $4,827.30.

Silver also fell by 0.6% to $79.40 per ounce, platinum fell 0.7% to $2074, while palladium rose 0.3% to $1556.16 per ounce.
