Tadawi Hospital in Dubai ends the suffering of a sixty-year-old citizen with gastric bypass complications

A medical team at Tadawi Hospital in Dubai was able to end the suffering of a sixty-year-old citizen who suffered medical complications that lasted for more than a year, after undergoing gastric bypass surgery.

Marwan Ibrahim Haji Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of Tadawi Healthcare Group in Dubai, said that the patient’s condition was puzzling to doctors, and it was difficult to diagnose it in several hospitals over the course of more than a year, but the medical team at Tadawi succeeded in diagnosing the condition and performed surgery on him that returned him to his normal state and freed him from complications in record time after long suffering.

Dr. Aws Khader Jassim, a consultant in obesity and general surgery at Tadawi Hospital, explained that the patient, Ali Hassan Salman, arrived at the hospital suffering from severe intestinal symptoms after undergoing a gastric bypass operation in another hospital, noting that he visited several hospitals and underwent many tests to diagnose his condition, but his condition was puzzling and he was not diagnosed to treat him for the ongoing complications.

He added: An integrated medical team was formed at Tadawi Hospital, which included the specialties of surgery, digestive system, nutrition, heart, chest, and endocrinology. It was found that the patient had undergone a gastric bypass operation that was not suitable for him, which caused him to suffer from complications resulting from intestinal irritation as a result of the passage of bile salts.

He continued: Surgery was performed on the patient to return the path of the stomach to its normal position to avoid it being affected by bile salts, indicating that the operation was complicated due to the patient’s old age and the small size of the stomach after a previous cutting surgery.

He explained that the surgical team at Tadawi Hospital was able to restore the normal anatomy of the stomach tract in a surgery that took four hours, which ended the patient’s suffering and restored his health and normal condition.
