Serious damage to a ship that was fired upon by Iran while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority reported that a container ship came under fire by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
The authority said in a statement today that an Iranian Revolutionary Guard boat opened fire on the ship, resulting in serious damage to the wheelhouse.
On the other hand, the Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported on Wednesday that the ship was identified as “Epaminondas”, flying the flag of Liberia, owned by the Greek company Technomar Shipping and operated by MSC.
The ship was reportedly informed that it had been allowed to cross the strait. However, the authorities are verifying the authenticity of the passage approval letter, including whether it is forged or not.
