Fujairah launches the 2026 evaluation cycle for the Outstanding Government Performance Award

The Fujairah Government Excellence Program announced the launch of the second evaluation session for the Fujairah Award for Excellence in Government Performance 2026, in a step that embodies continued efforts aimed at establishing a culture of institutional excellence, raising the level of government performance in the Emirate of Fujairah, and enhancing the readiness of government agencies to keep pace with future changes and adopt modern best practices.
This course comes as an extension of the program’s vision to enable government agencies to provide qualitative value to stakeholders, enhance the quality of life, and support the emirate’s competitiveness, through an integrated system based on achieving the vision, innovation, and capabilities.
In this context, the Fujairah Government Excellence Program organized a meeting with government excellence ambassadors, during which the launch of the second evaluation session was announced, its most prominent features were reviewed, the readiness of government agencies to participate was enhanced, and their inquiries related to the evaluation methodology and participation requirements were answered.
The program confirmed that the launch of the second evaluation cycle comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Fujairah government to consolidate government excellence as a sustainable institutional approach, and move from measuring performance to measuring impact, which contributes to enhancing the quality of performance and raising the efficiency of government work. Also, keeping the excellence system unchanged in terms of axes, criteria, weights, and evaluation methodology reflects the program’s keenness to consolidate concepts, deepen application, and give government agencies sufficient methodological stability, in a way that enhances their institutional maturity, raises the quality of outputs, and ensures that development is measured in a more consistent and fair manner between cycles.
The system is based on a comprehensive government philosophy that goes beyond the traditional concept of performance, by focusing on qualitative value, readiness for the future, rational leadership, integrated alignment, continuous learning, and results with long-term impact, which supports the building of flexible and innovative government institutions capable of responding to changes and creating new opportunities for development.
Within the framework of developing institutional categories, the second evaluation cycle reflects a clear strategic direction towards aligning government excellence with future priorities and the Fujairah 2028 Plan, by adopting institutional categories that include: the leading government entity, the best entity improving performance, the best entity in artificial intelligence and digital empowerment, the best entity in achieving the vision, the best entity in adopting innovative solutions, the best entity in anticipating the future and transformative thinking, the best entity in customer service, the best entity in societal impact and quality of life, and the happiest work environment.
This trend reflects the award’s focus on promoting digital transformation, adopting artificial intelligence applications, anticipating the future, stimulating applied innovation, improving the customer experience, maximizing societal impact and quality of life, in addition to paying attention to government work environments as a major enabler of sustainability.
The award also continues to honor distinguished career models through the Fujairah Medals for Excellence, which include: the Fujairah Medal for the Distinguished Leader, the Fujairah Medal for the Supervisory Employee, the Fujairah Medal for the Young Employee, the Fujairah Medal for the Customer Happiness Employee, the Fujairah Medal for the Specialized Employee, the Fujairah Medal for the Innovative Employee, the Fujairah Medal for the Field Employee, and the Fujairah Medal for the Administrative Employee, in addition to the creation of two new categories, the Fujairah Medal for Community Service. And the Fujairah Medal for Best Excellence Ambassador.
The creation of these two categories reflects a trend towards expanding the scope of appreciation to include the societal impact of individuals, enhancing the role of employees in spreading the culture of excellence within their entities, consolidating positive practices, and building inspiring job role models that contribute to supporting institutional competitiveness and enhancing belonging and awareness of government excellence methodologies.
The program emphasized that the new session represents an important milestone in the process of developing government performance in the emirate, by motivating entities to develop their capabilities, raise the efficiency of their operations, enhance integration and partnership, and achieve sustainable results that are reflected in society, customers, and work environments, in keeping with the directions of the Fujairah government and its future vision.
