4 assassination attempts in two years haunt Trump

The movements of US President Donald Trump witnessed a remarkable escalation in security threats, after a shooting incident that occurred yesterday evening, Saturday, outside the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner hall in Washington, where an armed man tried to advance towards the site of the event before he was controlled by Secret Service agents.
The latest incident highlights a series of assassination attempts targeting Trump within a short period of time, especially since he entered the election race in 2024.
The attempt in Pennsylvania in July 2024 was considered the most dangerous, when Trump was shot during an election rally, after a 20-year-old gunman opened fire on him, before he was eliminated by security forces.
Weeks later, the security services thwarted a new attempt inside his golf club in Florida, where a gunman was spotted hiding among the trees and planning an attack. It later became clear that he had prepared for the operation for months, before he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
In February 2026, the “Mar-a-Lago” resort witnessed an armed raid that ended with the death of the attacker, even though Trump was not present at the site at the time, which revealed the continued targeting of his residences.
As for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner incident, it confirmed the continued danger, as an armed man managed to reach the perimeter of the hall before he was surrounded, while Trump suggested that he was the direct target of the attack.
The threats are not limited to these incidents, as Trump has previously faced other attempts, including an attempt to grab a policeman’s weapon during an election rally in Las Vegas in 2016, and an attempt to use a forklift to target his motorcade in 2017, in addition to sending a letter containing the toxic substance “ricin” to the White House in 2020.
Investigations in 2024 also revealed a plan to hire hired killers to target Trump and American officials.
In 2025, authorities dealt with a shooting threat during an election rally, before it turned out to be fabricated with the aim of implicating someone else.
The repetition of these incidents over a short period reflects the transformation of the threats against Trump from individual incidents into an escalating pattern that imposes ongoing security challenges on American agencies.
