A private notary public in Abu Dhabi was fined 30,000 dirhams for violating professional regulations

The Private Notary Affairs Committee in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department issued a decision imposing an administrative fine on a private notary public of 30,000 dirhams, as a result of his failure to comply with the laws, decisions and controls regulating the practice of the profession.

This measure comes within the framework of the department’s efforts to establish an integrated monitoring system that guarantees the highest levels of professional discipline, with a focus on sustaining the improvement of the quality of judicial services in accordance with the highest approved legal standards, ensuring the accuracy of transactions and protecting the rights of all parties concerned.

This came during the committee meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, where the regulatory reports and performance of those practicing the profession were reviewed, with an emphasis on the necessity of strict adherence to the controls and legislation regulating the work of private notaries to ensure leadership in judicial work in Abu Dhabi.

The committee explained that these procedures fall within its tasks to monitor the extent to which those practicing the profession adhere to the established controls, noting that the private notary system in Abu Dhabi is primarily based on reliability and accuracy, ensuring the integrity of transactions and their compatibility with the applicable legal frameworks.

In the context of supporting the expansion of judicial services and developing partnership with the legal sector, the committee approved during its meeting a request to license a new office and renew the license of other offices to practice the profession. It also approved requests to register and renew the registration of a number of notaries to work in law firms licensed to practice the profession of private notaries, bringing the total number of private notaries to 53 notaries who provide their services through 41 law offices across the emirate, which contributes to providing diverse and easy options for clients to complete their transactions efficiently.
