Spain calls for booking airline tickets early with the rise in oil prices


The Spanish government called on consumers to quickly book airline tickets, to avoid possible price increases as a result of rising fuel costs, in light of the repercussions of the war in Iran on global oil markets.

The Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism said that Aviationis currently still relying on fuel purchased in previous periods, but price fluctuations have already begun to appear, which may be reflected in ticket prices during the coming period.

He pointed out that Spain, which received about 97 million tourists last year, an increase of 3.5%, may maintain a similar pace of growth during the current year, despite the current challenges.

These developments come in light of the rise in Oilhas decreased by about 50% since late February, following the escalation of military tensions, which led to an increase in the cost of long-haul flights from Europe by more than $100, according to estimates by authorities specialized in the transportation and environment sectors.

The minister confirmed that his country has a larger stock of aviation fuel and higher production capabilities compared to some other countries, but at the same time he warned that any disturbances in countries exporting tourists to Spain will necessarily reflect on its tourism sector.
